The Cincinnati-Dayton region benefits from strong industry demand, high-quality training providers, and longstanding workforce partnerships, but the region is experiencing a boom in demand for skilled workers that requires additional capacity and community coordination.

Lifting Futures met with training institutions, community organizations, and industry leaders across the Cincinnati-Dayton region to identify opportunities for skill-building and coordination. Three themes emerged that helped define our focus:
Guided by what we heard, Lifting Futures is working with community partners to create accelerated routes into skilled careers, add training capacity, and improve connections between employers and training providers across the region.
Additional capacity to train entry-level workers through accelerated manufacturing courses, welding skills training, and a new accelerated technician program.
Outreach and recruitment to support enrollment in Hobart’s welding program.
Regional mapping to support ongoing industry coordination and collaboration.
